The Master Gardener Foundation of Thurston County (MGFTC) hosts the annual fundraiser with local gardening expert Marianne Binetti entertaining and informing with creative summer garden ideas.

Join Marianne as she shares how to select the best flowering plants for summer color especially for difficult sites such as full sun and deep shade. Learn about the newest plants including the sun loving hydrangeas, the new drought tolerant perennials and natives that thrive in dry shade. The class will include demos on dividing and pruning with tips on feeding these plants and using them in containers.

Marianne Binetti has a degree in horticulture from WSU. She writes a syndicated garden column that appears in The Olympian and the Tacoma News Tribune. Marianne is the author of ten gardening books and has appeared on HGTV, all while gardening on her 2 acres in Enumclaw. And now she is leading trips to Europe that often include gardens. Funds raised from this event will support improvements to our Plant Sale Nursery and three Demonstration Gardens in Thurston County (Olympia Farmers Market garden, Closed Loop Park at the county waste management site, and Dirt Works at Yauger Park).
