Get to Know Us

Our mission is to support an environmentally healthy community.

By raising awareness and funds for the Washington State University (WSU) Master Gardener and Thurston County Master Recycler Composter programs, we support efforts to educate our community members on the benefits of water-wise gardening, growing food, low-impact landscaping, diagnosing plant diseases and pests, and recycling and composting.

The Foundation also provides educational public workshops and events, plant sales, and other fundraisers throughout Thurston County. These fun-filled educational experiences are open to the public—whether you’re a seasoned gardener or still growing your green thumb. Many of our events qualify for Continuing Education Credits for Master Gardeners and Master Recycler Composters. For Foundation members only, we regularly organize Member Perk Tours of choice private gardens. Proceeds from these activities support our educational outreach.

Becoming a member of the Master Gardener Foundation of Thurston County is easy. Membership is $10 yearly. All who are committed to the Foundation’s mission are welcome. You don’t need to be a Master Gardener or a Master Recycler Composter to be a member!

The Master Gardener Foundation of Thurston County is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
